Trail Overview
FS 1S25A branches off the main FS 1S25 road and opens into a quiet, 1.6-mile single-track through dense, shaded forest. The first short stretch is the narrowest part of the drive, with a bit of grass and brush pressing in close enough to brush the sides of the vehicle, though nothing that demands special care. Past that opening section, the road relaxes into a flat, comfortable dirt and gravel surface lined by tall pines and thick green undergrowth, with only the occasional small rock breaking up the tread. The setting feels private and secluded, a pleasant, quiet drive tucked away from more traveled roads. The route comes to a natural stopping point at a turnaround, where the road ends and the drive backtracks the way it came.
Difficulty
FS 1S25A is a low-difficulty drive that starts with its trickiest stretch right away, a short, narrow section where grass and light brush lean into the tread and may lightly brush the sides of the vehicle. Once through that opening stretch, the road flattens out into an easy, comfortable dirt and gravel surface with only small rocks scattered here and there. There are no significant obstacles for the remainder of the drive, and sightlines stay open and clear all the way to the turnaround at the end.
