Accessed either directly off Burnside Lake Road (FS 31019) or via Hawkins Spur D (FS 31205D) mid-route, this 1.1-mile single-lane track operates as an out-and-back spur leading into quiet backcountry terrain. Outdoor recreators and campers travel this trail to locate primitive dispersed campsites, explore high-country spur tracks, or enjoy peaceful views of the surrounding Sierra peaks. The driving surface consists of hard-packed dirt mixed with loose sand, granite cobbles, and localized water erosion channels, earning an accessible Grade 3 difficulty rating. Departing Burnside Lake Road, the path climbs gently through pine-shaded timber, passing a small seasonal stream crossing and several inviting camping turnouts. Past the Hawkins Spur D junction, the road drops downhill over loose, sandy soil and washed-out drainage cuts. While published maps suggest the trail continues along the ridgeline to connect with Burnside Spur 31205A, the route actually terminates at a turnaround loop with an unmapped, steep hill spur branching to the left.
