Trail Overview

This is a short and easy trail that is easily accessible near the Deer Creek Staging Area, making it a good option for beginner riders not too far from the staging. It’s only .6 miles long, connecting two forest roads. The west end starts on a shelfy hillside elevated above the forest road, winding tightly between big pine trees. There’s a caution sign marked before and after a cattle guard. There are lots of downed logs that have been cut, some of which are sticking into the trail or lining the trail, and you want to watch your pegs on those. It keeps winding through the forest floor. The dirt is pretty smooth with scattered pine cones. It goes on a little narrow ridge for a moment to avoid a big downed log, and has a couple of semi-steep sections near the east end. This trail is seasonally closed 12/16 – 4/14 to motorized use.
