Trail Overview
Starting from the intersection with 16EV254, this trail is marked as "Most Difficult". It winds through the scrub oak on a dry hillside, weaving tightly between lots of scraggly branches that grab you and sometimes block visibility. There is a moderate rock obstacle between the oak brush that is a small ledge of uneven jagged rocks that makes this trail more difficult. Then it has a couple sun exposed sections that go through dry hilltops with loose, volcanic-looking rock. It starts to descend over the loose rock, with a steeper section that could be more difficult for beginner riders. It’s not as tight a corridor through the trees on the east side of the loop, going through more pines and oak trees rather than the scrub oak. The trail reconnects to 16EV407 on the east side.
Difficulty
This is a moderate trail due to the one rock obstacle, several sections of loose rock, and very tight sections through the scrub oak. Parts of this trail are rated as "Most Difficult" by the Forest Service.
