Trail Overview
The east end of this trail starts on the forest road 3N63, and it goes west for 1.5 miles, meandering through gradual hills and descents in a pine forest. There are a lot of downed logs that have been cut and are now lining the trail, so you want to watch your pegs on all the downed trees. It winds through a decently wide tree corridor that makes it ideal for newer riders. It has some sharper curves, but is mostly fast and flowy through the trees. There are a couple small logs down across the trail, and riders should always be aware of new log hazards. The forest is really scenic, but the trail is very dusty and dry. There’s a caution sign marking a cattle guard at one point. The trail sidehills a little bit as it traverses the hillside, and it has a couple easy switchbacks. At the very west end it splits at the intersection with 16EV262, so you can end on either FS 4N16 or FS 3N63. This trail is seasonally closed 12/16 – 4/14 to motorized use.
Difficulty
This trail is a comfortable width and grade for newer riders, and remains easy the whole time. There are potential for log hazards and new downfall throughout the route that could make it more difficult.
