Trail Overview

This trail starts off Highway 23 and heads east beneath a beautiful canopy. The first quarter is manageable for most four-wheel-drive vehicles, but silty sections and deeper, hard-bottom mud holes become more common farther in, especially after heavy rain. Beyond the mud holes, the trail descends through pine-covered terrain into rockier, washed-out, and deeply rutted sections. There is no good turnaround area at the end.

Difficulty

Near the end, the route descends steeply to a deep creek crossing with large boulders. Mud holes and washed-out areas are present, and the descent can become slippery during rain.
