Trail Overview
This trail leads to the Winter Cabin trailhead, providing access for hikes into the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness. It begins as an easy but rutted dirt road that is mostly smooth and not very rocky, though large puddles can form after rain or snow. There are typically drive-arounds for the bigger water-filled sections. About half a mile in, the road becomes rockier and bumpier, adding a bit more texture to the drive. Several dispersed camp spots are located along the route, and the trail ends at a small parking area with a Forest Service sign at the trailhead.
Difficulty
This trail is rated 3/10 due to the rutted surface, potential for large puddles, and the rougher, rockier sections farther in. While generally easy in dry conditions, drivers should be prepared for uneven terrain and changing conditions after storms.
