Trail Overview
On the West side, this trail begins near Power Tank and a fence, crossing under powerlines before winding through an area of new growth recovering from a previous burn. Expect the possibility of downed trees and loose debris along this section. The road is mostly dirt and not very rocky at first, but it soon begins climbing up a ridgeline with a quick elevation gain and beautiful views of the surrounding meadows and forest.
As the trail continues, it enters a thicker forest and becomes a bit rockier. Puddles can form after rain or snow, and because the trail narrows, there are limited or no drive-arounds in some sections. There is one large downed tree across the road, though a bypass has been created to get around it.
Difficulty
This trail is rated 3/10 due to the narrow sections, potential obstacles like downed trees, and the rocky climb up the ridge. While generally manageable, drivers should be prepared for uneven terrain, limited bypass options, and changing conditions after storms.
