Trail Overview

Explore a relatively easy trail meandering through quintessential Sonoran Desert landscapes. The trail is mostly smooth and has a good flow to it, with a handful of rockier sections. There are great views of the local mountains and unique rock outcrops. The southern end of West Silverbell Mountain features some strange insignia on a water catchment, likely representing an A-10 warthog squadron. Two A-10s were observed circling this waypoint. Lots of lizards dart across the trail, including horned lizards, who seem quite friendly and don't mind if you pick them up. Arizona State Land permits are required for sections of this route.

This was such a fun trail! I am unsure if a truck or jeep could complete the full loop, the trail was very narrow in a lot of sections that ran closer to the mountain. Very doable on a quad or any bike with dirt tires. On dirt bikes it was a blast, fast and flowy with some moderately technical/rocky sections, optional hill climbs and side quests. The sand was really deep in some sections and the trail was overgrown a bit in areas so we did get scratched up by cacti a bit but nothing too bad. Definitely run bark busters on this trail to protect your hands from spikes!
