Trail Overview

Ss1085 runs as a smooth sand and gravel track with a few gentle whoops, weaving through cholla, creosote, yucca, and barrel cactus. Early on, it's fairly open, expect light undercarriage pinstripes & high clearance recommended. The route crosses a wash and goes up an easy off-camber section. Nothing technical, high clearance helps. By about mile 2, the vegetation thickens. Expect more pinstripe potential, more ground cactus, and dead branches that can reach into open windows. The trail snakes through the desert with great views of Mount Graham and nearby ranges. Roughly the last tenth of a mile becomes too overgrown to push through, and the trail simply returns to nature. Avoid in wet weather due to flash flood risk.
