Trail Overview
Trail Ss1087 is an out-and-back route that’s a little wild but overall mild. Some sections are overgrown, and pinstripes are likely. The trail crosses multiple washes and includes several mild off-camber areas, but nothing technical. In good conditions, both 2WD and 4WD can manage the route; the trail most likely becomes impassable in wet weather. The trail winds through the desert with plenty of S-curves and frequent wildlife sightings. Expect excellent views of Mount Graham, with great opportunities for both sunrise and sunset photography. It’s a solid practice trail for newer off-roaders. Toward the end, the cholla grows noticeably taller. You’ll also circle a fenced water catchment area before turning back. Watch your speed, ruts are small & sneak up on you.
Difficulty
This trail requires high clearance, but it can be completed in a two-wheel drive vehicle. There are a few off-camber sections and numerous small ruts, but no technical obstacles are present.
