Trail Overview
This is an easier out-and-back spur off of the Tailhoit Mesa ATV trail, which is less rocky and more gradual, making it one of the easiest ATV trails in this part of the Prescott National Forest. It is a wide route, frequently covered in a layer of loose cobbly rocks, but they are all packed down and pretty small. The trail winds between the juniper bushes on mostly flat ground, with very little elevation change. The trail has dirt segments that are cleared of rocks, and crosses a few grassy fields that are also smoother and rock-free. It pops out at a grassy clearing at the Smith Mesa Tank, where riders will have to turn around, as this trail does not connect to anything on the north end.
Difficulty
This is an easy trail as it is gradual or flat, with fewer sections of rock compared to the surrounding trails, and no major obstacles. It is accessed through rocky, more moderate trails, though, so it is just an extra trail to explore to add easy rock-free mileage.
