Trail Overview
This is a moderately easy ATV route that can be used as a bailout from the advanced Coldwater Trail #21. The south end of the trail starts at the intersection with #21, and goes north, with lots of loose rock in the trail (but less than Trail #21). It quickly turns into a smoother dirt trail. It has lots of uneven ruts and off-camber sections from erosion, a small rocky stream crossing, and continues through the scrub oak and pinyon trees, gradually descending towards Forest Service Road 21. One section has a few bigger embedded boulders in the trail that create a ramped rock ledge a couple of feet high that is a moderate obstacle, but not overly difficult. It goes through a metal pinch point on the north end and turns into a road designation.
Difficulty
The majority of this trail is easy, mostly being smooth dirt, but with lots of deep ruts and off-camber sections. The south end is steeper, with lots of loose rocks. There is one bigger embedded rock ledge obstacle in the middle of the route that adds to the difficulty.
