Trail Overview

This 5.8-mile point-to-point trail takes you along a natural gas line and is the most challenging trail in the area. The first section is a twisty moderate climb from Bill Gray Road to the start of the pipeline trail. The pipeline section crosses 4 gulches, two shallow and two deep. The second deep gulch is the most difficult on this trail, with optional lines rated 6-7, and will challenge even the most experienced off-roader. Once past the 4th gulch, the remainder of the trail is an easy drive back to Bill Gray Road.

very fun trail, had my boyfriend do this one because he is more experienced than I am. There were a few spots that were a little tough, but not hard with 4x4.

Skelton Bones is normally done south to north, but we decided we would do it in the opposite direction. We were about to find out why most people take a certain direction. This trail is a 5/10, but the pictures online didn’t really seem that difficult. We had completed an obstacle or two when we found the “BIG” shelf obstacle. MAN! It was Huge. We discussed whether we’d make it down and decided that we could probably climb it, but there was no way our bumper was going to make it down the 2.5 foot ledge without damage. We went back up the trail, but found a trail bypass up the road that brought us back to the trail right after the obstacle. We were excited that we got to continue even though we didn’t want to do that obstacle. Sometimes we’re getting smarter right? The rest of the trail had a bunch of ledge obstacles and climbs that challenged the ZR2. Some needed lockers, but we handled these without any issues.
