Trail Overview

This OHV trail clocks in right at 8 miles long and provides beautiful views of Sedona on the north end. This is a very popular trail and you are almost guaranteed to see others driving/riding. The route has many different surfaces, ranging from dirt, sand, rock, and gravel. The sandy areas are not deep at all and rock areas range from small loose rocks to small rock outcroppings. The north side of this trail looks like it was recently covered with gravel. There are several decent-sized ruts but nothing too crazy for a high-clearance 4x4.

Difficulty

This is a relatively easy unmaintained road. There are several loose sandy sections, some rocky sections where high clearance or proper tire placement will be required, and a couple of eroded areas where you'll need to watch your lean angle.

Very relaxed, scenic trail. Great for introducing some red rock shelf road to your repertoire. Trail was graded correctly, not difficult, mud can be present in some places but otherwise, beautiful patches of red rock sand and awesome views running it counterclockwise of Sedona.

Our group of 8 side by sides were on this trail with a few other Jeeps and UTV's . The trail was a bit rocky in some spots but very passable. I would not take a small SUV on this trail.

This trail was really fun and overall has a good mix of fast smoother sandy areas, rough rocky areas, and off-camber spots that require at least a small amount of thought into approach angle. It was very dry and dusty when I went, not a drop of water in the several washes I crossed. A handful of people on the trail today, mostly UTVs and dirt bikes. 4 high and sway-bar disconnect make the overall ride a little more comfortable, but is not necessary. Overall easy and very fun trail you can do in about an hour.

This trail has almost everything: embedded volcanic rock, off camber narrow sections, some mud, some sand, some washouts - but all-in-all a fun trail!
