Trail Overview
Palo Verde Run begins off Tank Trail and heads east toward the Verde Row private property boundary. This easy 2-track follows the wash to the south through a beautiful section of Sonoran Desert filled with lush Palo Verde trees, towering saguaros, ocotillo, and native desert vegetation. The loose gravel surface makes this an excellent trail for riders looking to improve their confidence and handling skills on sandy and gravel-covered terrain. Wildlife is common along this route, so keep an eye out for coyotes, bobcats, and other desert animals. As the trail approaches the eastern end, it drops into the wash and crosses it several times, where the gravel becomes deeper and requires more attention to throttle control and line selection. After climbing out of the wash, the trail narrows as Palo Verde trees close in around the route, with low-hanging branches that may brush helmets or bikes. The trail ends at an intersection with several spur trails, providing multiple options to continue exploring the surrounding desert.
Difficulty
A wide 2-track with loose gravel, a few wash crossings, and no technical obstacles. The deepest gravel is found in the wash crossings, and the eastern end becomes narrower with low-hanging tree branches that may cause pinstripes. Suitable for riders of all skill levels in dry conditions.
