Lower Challenging Red Raven

This continuation of the Red Raven Trail is a bit rockier and more challenging than the upper section. It's very wild and remote and features a lot of rock gardens with deep, challenging wash crossings that may come into contact with most 4x4s hitch. The connection to the upper red Raven is a steep, loose 4' shelf that can be pretty challenging. The views and wild terrain are just stunning. There are forests of Ocotillo and Saguaros. Close trees and shrubs along the side of the trail, while beautiful in the springtime with flowers, will cause paint damage the entire year. Be very cautious of sidewalls on this trail, as the rocks are pretty sharp, as to are the creosote. There are no good places to camp this route; it's strictly a 4x4 trail. Be sure to download your offline maps, as there is no Verizon cell service. some long rocky off-camber sections, steep wash crossings, and a 4' shelf. Paint damage is guaranteed.
