Trail Overview

Dry Tank Ridge begins at the top of BLM 30023 at the sharp left curve hill climb and follows a steadily climbing gravel and dirt roadway to an elevation of approximately 4,262 feet. The route is characterized by a consistent uphill grade with a bumpy surface, but no significant technical obstacles. The surrounding landscape features desert creosote, patches of natural grass, and scattered boulder formations, with expansive views extending for miles from the upper sections. Livestock is commonly present along the trail, and drivers should remain attentive. This route is on state trust land, and a valid permit is required for access. While suitable for both 2WD and 4WD high-clearance vehicles in dry conditions, caution is advised during both ascent and descent, as weather can quickly impact traction and overall trail conditions.
