Trail Overview

BLM PE1124 is an east-west out-and-back trail beginning at BLM PE1122 near the tank roundabout. The route travels through classic desert terrain surrounded by creosote, ocotillo, barrel cactus, and impressive mountain views. The trail is relatively manageable early on but becomes increasingly rough and natural after passing the large fenced-in old corral and water tank. Numerous water drainage crossings create repeated whoops and uneven transitions, so watch your speed and approach each one carefully. There are no significant obstacles or technical sections, but the rough terrain and constant wash transitions keep the trail interesting. Also, this trail will most likely be constantly changing after each future monsoon. The route eventually ends at the base of the mountain and exits the same way you entered.
