Trail Overview

BLM PE1122 is a wide 2-track point-to-point trail that begins off Highway 70. With a gate requiring access, be sure to close the gate behind you and follow the posted public-land-use guidelines. The trail travels through classic desert scenery, surrounded by creosote, barrel cactus, and other native vegetation. Several low-water crossings and drainage areas can become impassable after rain, so conditions should be checked before traveling. The trail starts relatively open and wide, with a few sections of loose, larger gravel and rock. As you approach the water tank, the landscape changes noticeably, with thicker green vegetation and taller trees surrounding the area. The trail becomes slightly tighter through the trees, with some ruts and drainage channels from recent rainfall. Just north of the tank, the trail veers right and continues north, where the gravel and rocks increase in size through the northern half. The trail eventually dead ends into PE1119, providing a connection through the surrounding trail network and back toward Highway 191. A scenic route with changing desert terrain, water features, and plenty of natural desert mountainous scenery, but conditions can change quickly following monsoon storms.
