Trail Overview

This 3.7-mile point-to-point trail starts in the Fossil Creek Valley and climbs up to Mogollon Mesa. Enjoy the sweeping views of the Fossil Creek area. This trail is only open from October to April. This is a great trail for the beginner to an intermediate off-roader. Many washed-out portions of the trail provide off-camber obstacles to negotiate. Recommend 33" tires and a 2" lift for this trail.

There are several off-camber sections through washed-out portions of the trail and rocks up to 18' in height.

Pretty trail connecting up to the top of the rim. The top section is narrow with a steep cliff to the southeast. Trail is in decent shape but appears to be seldom travelled. Tall grass lines the entire trail, especially the top section where it hides the ground from view. Cool trail! Agree with the 33” tire and 2” lift recommendation.

Trail is closed by a locked gate on north side due to seasonal permit closures. Not sure if accessible from Fossil Creek side. Kind of a pain to turn around at the gate (especially if with multiple vehicles) would suggest turning around at top of hill.
