Trail Overview

Desert Rise Trail is a moderately bumpy climb that steadily ascends through open Baja desert, gaining just over 550 feet in elevation from 1,471 to 2,029 feet. While not a peak or ridge-top route, the gradual rise offers wide, open views of the surrounding desert basin and distant mountain ranges. The trail is partially graded, but the surface is rough--expect soft sand mixed with embedded small rocks and a consistently uneven ride. The vegetation along the route is typical of the Baja region, with scattered desert brush and hearty flora lining the path. This is a great trail for those looking to link into more remote routes or simply enjoy a quieter stretch of elevation gain without major technical challenges.
