Trail Overview

Starting in the town of Santiago, this scenic off-road route begins on a well-maintained dirt road before transitioning into a diverse landscape of arroyos, small towns, ranches, and oak-lined paths. The drive is accessible for 2WD vehicles, though the final 50-meter ascent presents a moderate challenge with steep inclines and sizable ruts. While most 2WD vehicles successfully reach the top, some drivers opt to park in the open space below. Well-marked signs along the route provide guidance and information on hours of operation. Upon arrival, visitors can pay an entrance fee to hike to the hot springs or choose to camp overnight for an additional charge, making this a rewarding and immersive outdoor experience.
