Trail Overview

Beginning in the picturesque town of Santiago, Baja California Sur, this scenic off-road route leads to Zorrito Canyon and the stunning Cascada Sol de Mayo. Shortly after setting out, a must-stop lookout offers breathtaking panoramic views of Santiago, where thousands of palm trees stretch beneath the towering Sierra de la Laguna Mountains. The trail itself is well-traveled and maintained, making it accessible for any 2WD vehicle, though occasional corrugation and cattle guards require caution. Livestock frequently wander onto the road, so maintaining a controlled speed is essential. Upon arrival, visitors can explore multiple viewpoints of the waterfalls via short walks, while those seeking an extended stay can opt to camp in the parking area for an additional fee.
