Trail Overview

This route begins between El Rosario and Valle Perdido, roughly at the midpoint of that road, and offers a diverse off-road experience. The trail starts gently, weaving through small ranches and desert landscapes dotted with medium-height vegetation and El Cordon cacti. As you progress, the route descends into an arroyo, shifting the terrain to soft sand. Here, the trail passes through a working ranch--motorcyclists should proceed cautiously, as a few friendly but energetic dogs may give chase. It's courteous to drive slowly through these ranch areas to maintain goodwill and ensure access remains open. Beyond the ranch, the trail straightens out, with soft sandy stretches making for a smooth ride. About a mile before reaching Highway 19, you'll encounter corrugated sections, but the road remains manageable overall. Keep an eye out for cattle, which frequently wander onto the path.
