Trail Overview

This scenic track takes you right on the Los Barilles Beach itself. The beautiful Sea of Cortez on one side and all the homes and businesses along the beach on the other side. It's all sand. If you stay along the main track, it is accessible by any vehicle. Be careful to go off the main part as it can be very deep sand. Always be aware of the tides if you plan to park close to the water.

Difficulty

As long as you stay on the main track the sand is packed down. If you stray toward the water, the sand can get deep. The beach can get busy. Watch for people and pets.

History

Los Barriles is a town in La Paz Municipality, Baja California Sur, Mexico. In 2020, the town had a population of 1,674 people. It is situated along Highway 1, 40 miles north of San Jose del Cabo and 65 miles south of La Paz. Most people get around town in their SxS. It's the most common way to get around. Unlike most town beaches, they let you drive on the beach in Los Barriles.
