Trail Overview
This route begins off Highway 1 and heads west toward the coastline, ultimately reaching a four-way intersection that provides access to Lomita Amarilla. The trail can be entered through a gated access point, which must be opened and closed behind you, or via an open gate if you follow the full route alignment from the highway near kilometer 39. Frequently used as an access road for off-road events, the road is generally wide and well-maintained, offering a mix of sand, rocky patches, and compact dirt. 4WD is typically not necessary under dry conditions. The northern section ends at a key intersection with three options: continue straight to Lomita Amarilla, turn right to reach the connector road between Highway 1 and Puerto Chale, or turn left for a route that eventually leads to the town of Santa Fe.
Difficulty
This road is not particularly challenging, and although it features a variety of surface types, 4WD is not required. Lowering tire pressure is generally only recommended for added comfort or if you're continuing deeper into the region.
