Trail Overview
This trail serves as a scenic "back way" route into Premier Lake. There is an easier, graded main road to Premier Lake as an alternative. The trail features twists, turns, and rolling hills of partially cleared forest, dense wooded areas, and scenic mountain views. While the route is overall easy, it is quite narrow between trees, making paint damage from brush highly likely. Travelers should expect some light rocky sections and may need to navigate around fallen trees, particularly after heavy storms or during the spring season. When traveling from south to north, you are rewarded with spectacular views of Premier Lake through the trees as you approach. Important Note: Offshoot driving trails are strictly prohibited in this area, as it is a designated wilderness area. Please remain on the main route at all times. No cell service; download offline maps in advance. A few small, dispersed camping spots suitable for a single rig exist before entering the park boundary. Random/Dispersed camping is not permitted within the park boundary.
Difficulty
This trail is narrow, with tight trees in places and lots of vegetation. Expect the possibility of clearing downed trees in the spring or after a storm. Parts of the trail could be muddy in the wet season.
