Trail Overview
This Cutover Trail is a scenic two-track route that begins near the highway. A few Random Camping areas are available near the beginning. From there, it travels through expansive meadows with impressive mountain views and continues across grassy, rocky, and rutted terrain. The route provides excellent views of the surrounding forest and meadows. Deer and other wildlife may be seen along the trail, particularly near the open grassy sections. The trail is generally bumpy and uneven but remains relatively easy in dry conditions. Some ruts are extremely deep and may be impossible to cross when wet. Drivers should expect a slow, careful trip rather than a smooth connection. Picture Valley Cutover passes through active logging and open-range country. Logging trucks, forestry equipment, and cattle may all be present, so users should remain alert and drive cautiously. Cell Service is limited; approximately one bar in some areas.
