Wind & Weather for Turkey Hunting
Use case examples to help you get the most out of the App’s wind and weather information.
Find a good setup location.
Set Optimal Wind on all your setup-related Waypoints so you can use the Wind Calendar to review side-by-side wind forecasts to determine which spot has the most mild winds for the day.
Setting Optimal Wind.
- Tap on any Waypoint (or create a Waypoint).
- Scroll to Waypoint Tools.
- Tap Wind Direction and then Set Optimal Wind.
- Choose your preferred wind direction(s) and tap Apply.
- You’ll now see color-coded indicators on the Waypoint showing good, bad, and okay wind.
Know when to pop up the ground blind.
Steady or heavy rains reduce the ability to hear, and you may see birds congregate in open areas so they can maximize the use of their sharp eyesight.
Use weather forecasts to know when to position yourself in a ground blind during a rainstorm.
