Loop
The Betty’s Neck Loop begins at a small parking area off Bog Access Road, a rough dirt track off Long Point Road in Lakeville, MA. From the trailhead, follow Field Trail to the right through open meadows near a historic barn site. Shortly after, turn right onto White Blaze Trail to enter a mixed hardwood forest. The trail climbs gradually before meeting Blue Blaze Trail—turn right again here to begin gaining elevation toward a scenic ridgeline. From this high point, expansive views open across the shoreline of Assawompset Pond. Continue along the ridge, then descend through wooded terrain to reconnect with Field Trail. Turn right one final time to return to the trailhead.
This route is part of the Assawompset Pond Complex, managed by the Town of Lakeville. It is open to hiking and leashed dogs, with excellent wildlife viewing and birding opportunities, including potential bald eagle sightings. Because the pond supplies drinking water, swimming, paddling, and wading are not allowed. Trail access is generally possible from late winter through fall, with winter use dependent on conditions.
