Description
Historic fire tower views and vibrant forest hiking from Molly Stark State Park. The Mount Olga Trail begins at the Molly Stark State Park Trailhead off VT Hwy. 9 and forms a short, scenic route through hardwood forest to the summit of Mount Olga. Hikers follow a clearly marked path that climbs gradually through mixed forest terrain, with occasional rocky or root-covered sections. At the first signed junction, stay right to begin the route in a clockwise direction. After a steady ascent, the trail reaches the wooded summit and the base of the historic steel fire tower. Climb the tower for panoramic views of the Green Mountains. After descending from the tower, continue on the loop by following signs downhill through mature forest. The trail connects with park roards to close the loop. This route is especially popular for fall foliage hikes near Wilimington and makes for a rewarding short outing with expansive summit views.
