This moderate hiking route begins at Tim’s Trail Trailhead on Galick Road. Starting with a steady climb through hardwood forest, the trail ascends to a ridgeline where open cliffside views reveal Lake Champlain, Poultney River, and Bald Mountain. Rough footing, loose rocks, and occasional steep sections along the cliffs add to the challenge. A signed junction near the apex of the loop leads to the Susan Bacher Connector. The route continues on Tim's Trail back to the trailhead, but those looking for a longer hike can follow the connector to another loop through quiet forest walking with less elevation change.
Managed by The Nature Conservancy, this area protects important wildlife habitat, and dogs are generally not allowed. Expect uneven terrain, especially in wet conditions, and carry all necessary water—no reliable sources are available along the trail. Open seasonally from May through November, this route offers a peaceful walk through protected forestland with rewarding views from the high points.
