Description
This easy route begins at the parking area on Marsh Road in Dudley, MA, with access via the designated sanctuary entrance. From the trailhead, hikers can follow the well-marked Meadow Loop as it circles an open grassland area featuring shrubland habitat, dragonflies, butterflies, and meadow birds. At a signed junction, the Woodland Loop branches into a mixed pine and hardwood forest, offering a shaded contrast to the open field. To finish the route, continue onto the George Marsh Trail, which winds along the edge of Pierpont Meadow Pond. This stretch offers scenic views of the pond and surrounding forest before returning to the main trail near the parking area. The route stays mostly level and is suitable for short, casual hikes year-round. Tick and insect activity may be present in the meadow and woods, and pets are not permitted on sanctuary trails.
