This route begins from the trailhead on Jim Noyes Hill Road, following the Yellow Trail through northern hardwood and conifer forest. After a short climb, the trail descends gently toward the wet meadows and streams surrounding Scotland Brook. Bog bridges help hikers cross wet areas, especially near the open wetlands that support a wide range of birds and aquatic life. Around halfway in, the trail reaches a small clearing with filtered views of the hills beyond.
To extend the hike, connect with the Red Trail on the return for a short loop through a shaded glade and past several fern-covered clearings. Keep an eye out for moose tracks, beaver activity, and songbirds like warblers and pileated woodpeckers. This easy-to-moderate route offers a peaceful walk with rewarding views and excellent wildlife watching.
