Bald Mountain Out-and-Back

Start from the ample parking at the trailhead. The trail quickly starts ascending at a moderate rate to the col, where the spur to Bald Mountain joins from the left. Once you turn left, the trail levels off for a short while before it starts climbing rapidly through a short scramble, a switchback, and then a longer scramble in the final approach to the summit. Scrambles are not technically challenging and younger children can often be found on this trail.The summit provides excellent breezy views of Franconia Notch.
