Starting from the eastern end of the trail, the trail travels westward. This first part starts by traveling through a forest that was part of the Robert Frost Homestead and then travels through a marsh. The trail climbs up the hill on the other side and follows this to Paran Creek. Here, at the creek, you can catch glimpses of the local wildlife.
As the Robert Frost Trail, it continues straight (up the hill). It climbs to an open field with excellent views. At the next intersection, turn right and climb up to the top of another small hill. The trail descends and fuses with the Shore Trail. These trails coincide until their end at the edge of the Lake Paran Recreations building.
