Point to Point
The trail begins at the Lowell Lake trailhead near the boat launch and circles the shoreline of Lowell Lake. This easy, well-defined route offers a peaceful walk through a mix of old-growth forest and lakeside terrain. From the trailhead, head north along the marked path. The route stays close to the water’s edge for most of the way, with short detours into the woods where you’ll encounter interpretive signs, remnants of old structures, and two small historical cemeteries.
The terrain remains gentle throughout, with only minor elevation changes. Wet or icy sections can appear in spring or winter, especially near shaded low points. Dogs are allowed on leash, but camping, fires, and biking are not permitted. While the trail is open year-round, services and maintenance are limited outside of the summer operating season. With consistent lakeside views, rich birdlife, and quiet forest stretches, this is a relaxing route for those seeking low-elevation day hikes in southern Vermont.
