Loop
This loop begins and ends at the Grafton Trails & Outdoor Center parking area, offering a moderate route through quiet Vermont forestland. From the trailhead, follow Pine Run Trail until it connects with Red Trail Loop, then head south to take the loop counterclockwise. The route winds through mixed hardwoods and evergreen pockets, with occasional views of the surrounding hills. At roughly the halfway point, a short spur provides a scenic overlook that's worth the detour on clear days.
After the overlook, the route continues through rolling terrain and occasional wet areas fed by seasonal streams. Moose tracks are sometimes spotted in muddy stretches, especially in spring and early summer. As the trail loops back, expect some steeper sections with uneven footing before gradually descending to the starting point. While accessible year-round, snowshoeing is required in winter, and hikers should be prepared for muddy conditions or biting insects in warmer months. This forested loop is ideal for a quiet half-day hike with subtle scenery and wildlife sign.
