Point to Point
Some of the Outer Loop Trail is a (park) road walk between the campground area and the main parking lot near the beach. The route is a little over three miles in length. If starting at the beach parking lot and going clockwise, first the trail crosses the lake overflow area, then goes up a wooded slope that runs near one park edge. By always taking the left hand path whenever there is an intersection with other trails one can remain on the perimeter route. The trail through the forest goes through areas of evergreens and mixed hardwoods. A few benches are available along the path. Eventually the trail crosses a wooden bridge downstream of a wetland. The perimeter route eventually leaves the woods interior for a wide, mown swath of turf with woods to either side. This ends at pavement near the camping area, and the rest of the route is on the paved road back to the beach.
