Loop
The Hypertherm Trails Loop begins at a small trailhead parking area off Route 120 in Hanover, NH, near the edge of the Hypertherm Inc. campus. From the start, hikers can follow the clearly marked Orange Loop for an easy walk through quiet hardwood forest. To extend the route, connect to the longer Green Loop or the shorter Blue Loop, both of which branch off from the Orange Loop and explore deeper sections of the property. The Green Loop follows gentle terrain past large glacial boulders and intermittent wetland clearings, while the Blue Loop circles a dense, mossy section of mixed forest. A short Purple crossover trail links the Green and Blue Loops, offering additional flexibility.
Only the Orange Loop is marked, so hikers venturing onto the Green and Blue Loops should be prepared with a GPS device or map. For a longer hike, consider approaching the loop network via the Rix Ledges Trail from the south, which adds distance and passes through mixed hardwood stands and ledgy terrain before connecting to the Hypertherm system. No permits are needed, but visitors must follow landowner guidelines to keep this private trail network accessible to the public. This is a great short outing for those looking for quiet day hikes in the Upper Valley with interesting glacial terrain and minimal crowds.
