Moose Mountain Trail

The trail heads up Moose Mountain and follows on part of the Appalachian Trail.At roughly a half mile in when crossing over Mink Brook, the trail will cross over a Class IV road. Continue straight towards the swamp and skip the Harris Trail that leads to Harris Cabin.After following the trail up to the summit of South Moose Mountain, you'll find wreckage of a plane crash from 1968.Continue on the trail that travels to the north summit of Moose after crossing a summit bog downhill. The trail enters the col between the north and south summits.Follow the Harris trail back to the four-way junction you previously crossed before going up the mountain. Take a right and retrace your steps back to the car.

In 1968, a Northeast Airlines plane crashed on the south ridge below the summit.
