Description
Beginning at the Glowegee Preserve trailhead near Galway, this route follows the Green-blazed Rhode’s Ramble Trail before connecting to the Blue-blazed Don Juan’s Traverse. From the trailhead, follow the Green markers through a mixed hardwood forest, passing benches placed along the path for rest and observation. The trail soon reaches a small pond and crosses damp lowland sections that can be muddy after rain. At the signed junction, turn right onto the Blue-blazed Don Juan’s Traverse, which winds along a shallow creek and climbs gradually through shaded terrain before looping back toward the start. This short, moderate route offers a quiet walk beneath a dense canopy with glimpses of water and seasonal wildflowers. It’s well suited for a relaxed hike or dog walk and provides a peaceful escape close to Galway with scenic woodland character year-round.
