Description
The trailhead is about 2.5 miles inside the park and includes a parking area. From the trailhead, follow the well trodden path through caprock and other badlands formations including: rills and pinnacles. Stop to view the natural bridge and loop around to the start.Though steep in parts, the short length of this loop makes it a nice, easier loop for park visitors to get out and stretch their legs. You shouldn't have to worry to much about obstacles either, as this trail is well traveled and tame.
History & Background
Makoshika is Montana's largest State Park. Makoshika (Ma-ko'-shi-ka) is a variant spelling of a Lakota phrase meaning 'bad land' or 'bad earth'.
