The Minister Creek Trail begins from a parking area along PA Route 666, next to the entrance to Minister Creek Campground in Allegheny National Forest. From the trailhead, follow the gray-diamond markers north, staying right at the early split to continue along Minister Creek. The route winds through mixed hardwood forest and follows the creek upstream, gradually climbing past small cascades and mossy rock formations.
Around the halfway point, the route joins the North Country National Scenic Trail (NCT), marked with blue diamonds. Turn left here and follow the NCT for a short stretch before reconnecting with Minister Creek Trail on the west side of the creek. From there, the route turns south and begins a steady descent through more rugged terrain, passing scenic creek valleys, large boulders, and occasional backcountry campsites. Near the high point of the loop, a spur trail offers access to Minister Valley Overlook, with expansive views across the forest. The route ends back at the trailhead, capping off a rewarding hike through classic Pennsylvania backcountry.
