There and Back
This moderate route begins at the Bolton Valley Resort parking area and climbs steadily along the Telemark Trail toward a broad ridgetop viewpoint known as Harrington’s View. From the trailhead, follow signage into a mixed hardwood forest dominated by birch and maple. The trail gains elevation at a steady pace, with a few rockier stretches that require light scrambling or careful footing.
As you ascend, the forest thins slightly, offering filtered glimpses of the surrounding hills before arriving at Harrington’s View, an open ledge with a sweeping view across the Green Mountains. The return follows the same path back through the forest. This route is a reliable option for day hikes near Mount Mansfield, particularly in early October when foliage colors are at their peak.
