Point to Point
This point-to-point route begins at the Bucks Brook Road Trailhead and follows the Finger Lakes Trail south through a mix of hardwood forests and low-lying wetlands. After a short climb from the trailhead, the trail winds across a series of wooded ridgelines with moderate ups and downs. At several points along the way, seasonal brooks and wetlands—especially near Bucks Brook—offer signs of beaver activity and attract a variety of birdlife. At a Y-intersection early in the route, stay right to remain on the main Finger Lakes Trail.
Past the halfway mark, the terrain becomes more rolling as the trail enters Pharsalia Woods State Forest. Dispersed campsites are possible off-trail in accordance with DEC regulations, though reliable water is limited to seasonal sources. The route ends at the southern terminus near the Pharsalia Woods parking area. This segment offers solitude, a quiet forest experience, and a chance to explore one of the less-traveled portions of the Finger Lakes Trail.
