There and Back
The Tidioute Riverside Rec Trek Trail begins just outside the borough of Tidioute on the west bank of the Allegheny River and heads south along a former railroad grade. This easy-to-moderate route stays close to the river for its entire length, offering continuous views of the water and surrounding woodland. The mostly flat path follows a natural surface of grass and dirt, with occasional soft or muddy sections after rain.
Waterfalls and small feeder streams appear along the route, adding scenic variety to the forested setting. Wildlife sightings are common, especially birds, and occasional closures may occur due to eagle nesting in the area. The railroad grade continues southward toward Grove Run, but visitors should turn around where the trail leaves the forest boundary and enters private property. This is a quiet and accessible day hike in Warren County and a popular riverside route for walking, hiking, or mountain biking.
