Trail Overview
This trail begins off Circle Park Road from Highway 16. Take the first left at the initial junction, then stay left when the trail splits again. The route passes through a beautiful open meadow with dispersed campsites, followed by several more shaded campsites tucked into the trees.
The dirt road has some embedded rocks, narrow sections between trees, and a couple of rutted areas, but it is wide enough for a full-size vehicle. Any standard vehicle should make this fine; choose your own adventure there! 4x4 and high clearance make it super comfortable and fun. About halfway through, the trail splits and offers two variations. The left route has a deeply rutted section where high clearance is needed, and four-wheel drive is recommended. The right route is much more vehicle-friendly and provides an easier bypass. This is the only notable obstacle along an otherwise beautiful and scenic route. Enjoy!
Difficulty
This is an easy, beginner-friendly trail. Expect embedded rocks, narrow sections between trees, and a couple of rutted areas. Any standard vehicle should be able to complete the route under dry conditions by taking the easier right-hand bypass at the halfway split. The left variation has deeper ruts and is better suited to a high-clearance, four-wheel-drive vehicle. Overall, four-wheel drive and high clearance are not required, but they make the trail more comfortable and fun. Rain, mud, snow, ice, or other seasonal conditions could significantly increase the difficulty.
