Trail Overview

This trail is relatively easy but offers spectacular views at the top. Due to some rocky areas, it can be done with any 4WD vehicle with a bit of extra ground clearance. After a heavy rain, it will be slick and muddy in a few places. Located at the top of the trail, you will find one of two fire outlook locations accessible by vehicle in Wyoming.

Difficulty

The majority of the trail is dirt and rock that is easily traversed in 2WD with high clearance. There are a few places where the rocks are a little larger and 4WD could be used. Several places where there is no rock can become slick with mud after a heavy rain.

Thin layer of snow slippery in areas, mud coming through as snow melts also slick. My had to use 4wd a few times. Good views by the fire lookout station.
